God Eater 3
All of sudden, unknown life forms called “Oracle cells” begin their uncontrolled consumption of all life on Earth. Their ravenous appetite “devour” and remarkable adaptability earn them first dread, then awe, and finally the name “Aragami”. In the face of an enemy completely immune to conventional weapons, urban civilization collapses, and each day humanity is driven further and further toward extinction. One single ray of hope remains for humanity. Following the development of “God Arcs”—living weapons which incorporate Oracle cells—their wielders, the “God Eaters,” appear. In a world ravaged by mad gods, these “God Eaters” fight a desperate war... Create your character, and fight for the survival of human-kind in GOD EATER 3. Select your weapon from a wide range of God Arcs and face brand new Aragamis in dynamic high-speed battles. Explore devastated areas you have never seen in the previous GOD EATER games.
What it feels like
Fast-paced, kinetic combat and speed-focused battles deliver a rush of flow and momentum in moment-to-moment play. High-speed dynamic combat and cooperative victories provide a swelling sense of hard-won momentum and heroic defiance against impossible odds.
What it's about
The world has collapsed from Oracle cell consumption, leaving humanity struggling for survival in ravaged landscapes. Fighting for humanity's survival against extinction-level threats is the central narrative and motivational drive. Oracle cells and Aragami represent adaptable, inhuman intelligence that threatens human existence, a thematic undercurrent.
How it plays
Fast, flashy melee combat against numerous monsters with chained combo attacks is the definitive core loop of God Eater 3's gameplay. Combat emphasizes stylish, expressive execution and deep combo systems that reward skilled, rhythmic play rather than simple button-mashing. Close-quarters weapon combat with God Arcs is the primary engagement method, featuring deliberate timing and positioning against Aragami.
How it looks and sounds
The camera follows the player character from behind during all combat, the standard viewpoint throughout. Character design, visual language, and stylistic presentation are inspired by Japanese anime aesthetics.
How it's structured
The full campaign is designed for cooperative play with up to four players, central to the experience. Gameplay is organized around discrete selectable hunting missions against specific Aragami targets. Multiple players can cooperate over the internet toward shared mission objectives as a major feature.
