Monster Hunter: World
Welcome to a new world! Take on the role of a hunter and slay ferocious monsters in a living, breathing ecosystem where you can use the landscape and its diverse inhabitants to get the upper hand. Hunt alone or in co-op with up to three other players, and use materials collected from fallen foes to craft new gear and take on even bigger, badder beasts!
What it feels like
Each hunt maintains sustained pressure where a mistake can be costly and the outcome feels uncertain. Successfully hunting ferocious monsters delivers a swelling sense of hard-won victory and heroic momentum.
What it's about
Hunting dangerous creatures in a hostile ecosystem to gather resources and survive is the central subject. The living, breathing ecosystem with diverse creatures and environmental interactions is central to the world.
How it plays
Close-quarters weapon combat with diverse attack patterns and positioning is the fundamental core of all hunts. Combat rewards careful spacing, stamina management, punishing mistakes, and learning enemy patterns over reflexes alone. Randomized material drops from monster parts drive the gear progression loop and reward loop fundamentally.
How it looks and sounds
The camera follows the hunter from behind or over the shoulder throughout all exploration and combat. High-fidelity detailed rendering of monsters, environments, and character models aims for visual realism.
How it's structured
Up to four players can hunt together cooperatively over the internet as a core feature. Randomized monster parts, multiple weapon types, and escalating difficulty with optional hunts encourage repeated playthroughs. The full campaign and all hunts are fully playable solo with no multiplayer requirement.
