Wargroove
Wargroove is a turn-based strategy game for up to 4 players, in which each player takes control of an army and its commander unit to wage war on their enemies! Wargroove is extremely easy to pickup, with accessibility at the forefront of its design, and very difficult to master, with deep gameplay mechanics that complement strategic play.
What it feels like
A lighthearted, accessible tone invites casual experimentation and friendly competition.
What it's about
Armed forces, commanders, and military tactics are the thematic centerpiece. Feudal fantasy factions, magic, and medieval-inspired warfare form the setting.
How it plays
Turn-based strategy combat is absolutely definitional; players alternate actions to wage war, making it the core interaction loop. Grid-based tactical positioning and range are central to how players defeat enemies, with strategic placement driving victory conditions. Movement occurs on a discrete tile grid where positioning matters; this is foundational to the tactical layer.
How it looks and sounds
Deliberately low-resolution hand-placed pixel art is the signature visual style. Bold, saturated colors characterize the pixel aesthetic and world design.
How it's structured
Local shared-screen cooperative and competitive play for up to 4 players is a core design pillar. A bounded story campaign with a defined arc serves as the single-player core, offering an authored experience alongside multiplayer modes. Direct player-versus-player competitive modes are central, with ranked or casual PvP play.
