Dying Light: The Beast
Dying Light: The Beast Restored Land is a new enhanced version of the game that includes the base game, all previously released updates and the premiere Restored Land content in one package. This includes Legend Levels, New Game+, Ray Tracing, Nightmare Mode, dozens of new brutal finishers, hundreds of parkour and gameplay improvements, and numerous visual and audio enhancements - delivering new ways to experience the apocalypse.
What it feels like
Surviving dangerous nights and managing infected threats creates sustained edge-of-seat pressure. The infected apocalypse and brutal finisher animations create an unflinching dark atmosphere.
What it's about
The game is grounded in a collapsed, infected world where civilization has crumbled and danger is omnipresent. Surviving a hostile infected wilderness and managing threats through the night is central to the setting and player pressure. The infected, their evolution, and the atmosphere of danger create a horror-inflected experience, though tempered by action focus.
How it plays
Fluid parkour and free-running across the wilderness is a canonical core mechanic, with hundreds of improvements emphasizing this movement system. Close-quarters combat with brutal finishers and infection-based abilities forms a major pillar of moment-to-moment gameplay. Enhanced parkour improvements include aerial control, wall-runs, and momentum-driven movement options.
How it looks and sounds
The game is played from a first-person perspective as the primary camera mode, central to the parkour and combat experience.
How it's structured
The vast unpredictable wilderness is explored in a non-linear, player-chosen order across a large continuous space. The open wilderness appears to be traversed without hard boundaries or loading screens between areas. A bounded story arc follows Kyle Crane uncovering a deadly evolution and his own transformation.
