Enclave
Enclave is a level-based action RPG game with a mix of shooting and puzzles, pitting the player as one of twelve different characters on either side in this medieval era. As a member of the Light side: a Knight, a Huntress, a Wizard, a Druid, an Engineer or a Halfling can be chosen. At the opposite end of the spectrum: a Berserker, an Assassin, a Sorceress, a Lich, a Bombardier, or a Goblin. The player needs to perform different tasks leading ultimately to one objective; protect the Enclave (Light) or invade the land (Dark). To accomplish these tasks, various weapons, such as swords, bows, staffs and spears, can be used. To aid the player, shields are readily available, as well as a select few potions. Armor is abundant and comes in many shapes and sizes.
What it feels like
The atmospheric medieval fantasy combat and award-winning worldbuilding suggest sincere, unironic engagement with the setting and narrative. The darker medieval fantasy setting with conflict between light and dark factions carries a grave, unflinching tone.
What it's about
Medieval era with Light and Darkness factions divided by a cosmic rift, classic fantasy setting with magic and mythic stakes. The Dark side characters (Berserker, Sorceress, Lich, Goblin) and the conflict between light and dark evoke a darker fantasy tone.
How it plays
Fast melee combat against multiple enemies with various weapons (swords, bows, staffs, spears) is the core action gameplay loop. The game forces a choice between six Light-side and six Dark-side character classes, each with fundamentally different gameplay identities and objectives. Twelve distinct character classes with different weapon sets, abilities, and roles (Knight, Wizard, Druid, etc.) enable meaningful character building choices.
How it looks and sounds
Steam tags and gameplay design indicate third-person perspective is the primary camera mode for combat and exploration. Steam tags highlight 'Great Soundtrack,' typical of action RPGs featuring sweeping orchestral medieval scores. Steam user tags mention first-person as a feature, suggesting optional or alternate perspective mode.
How it's structured
Designed as single-player experience, though Steam tags mention multiplayer, the core campaign is solo-focused. Level-based progression with a clear narrative arc where the player works toward protecting the Enclave (Light) or invading the land (Dark). The game is organized as discrete level-based missions rather than a seamless open world, with ordered progression through tasks.
