Hobo: Tough Life
Hobo: Tough Life is a city survival RPG. You play as a homeless and your main goal is to survive. To do this you will have to deal with hunger, hostile environment, human unconcern and with forthcoming winter. Play with friends or with other players online and do whatever it takes to survive.
What it feels like
Urban homelessness, winter hardship, and hostility create a harsh, unflinching depiction of survival. The crushing weight of societal indifference, cold, and necessity presses onto the player throughout.
What it's about
The core gameplay is explicitly centered on survival mechanics: managing hunger, enduring hostile environment, and preparing for winter. Set in a recognizable present-day urban world (Praslav) with modern homeless survival struggles. The homeless condition inherently emphasizes solitude, societal indifference ('human unconcern'), and being cut off from normal society.
How it plays
Managing hunger and preparing for environmental hazards (winter, hostile environment) is definitional to the survival loop. Scavenging for food and supplies with limited carrying capacity demands careful budgeting and prioritization. Gathering materials and combining them into useful items is a survival tool, though not the headline feature.
How it's structured
Players explore the streets of Praslav freely, scavenging and navigating an urban environment with significant player-chosen progression paths. Core multiplayer option allowing players to team up over the internet toward shared survival goals. Solo play is explicitly supported as a primary mode alongside co-op.
