Stories Untold is a compilation tape of four episodes from the now cancelled series of the same name, including a remaster of the original pilot episode “The House Abandon”.

What it feels like

An enigmatic pull of secrets half-glimpsed and answers withheld permeates the structure and atmosphere of all four episodes. Slow-building anticipatory fear and unease about what is unfolding creates sustained tension throughout the episodes. A creeping wrongness where the almost-familiar becomes subtly and disturbingly off characterizes the tone and imagery.

What it's about

Unraveling hidden truths and piecing together unexplained events is central to the narrative structure across episodes. Psychological horror rooted in tension, unreliability, and disturbing atmospherics drives the emotional core rather than visceral scares. Science fiction elements are present as a thematic backdrop, contributing to the speculative and unsettling tone of the experimental adventures.

How it plays

Point-and-click interaction is a primary interaction mode for solving puzzles and navigating the narrative, as evidenced by Steam user tags and the adventure game structure. Puzzles woven into the game world and its narrative friction are central to progressing through each experimental episode.

How it looks and sounds

The 1980s retro aesthetic and lo-fi presentation are evident in the user tags and the 'compilation tape' framing device. First-person perspective is noted in user tags and fits the immersive, experiential structure of several episodes. Interface elements appear grounded in the fiction through the 'compilation tape' conceit and narrative framing.
