Interstellar Marines
nterstellar Marines resurrects the old school tactical FPS, offering a unique blend of co-op, role-playing and nonlinear gameplay. Set in a believable future, you take on the role as an elite soldier handpicked to join Project IM, a top secret military program being assembled to protect mankind from all dangers outside our solar system. Interstellar Marines is inspired by Half-Life, System Shock 2 and Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield. Our game is all about evolving the FPS recipe with all the inspirations we've assimilated since the birth of the genre. Our goal is an evolutionary leap forward driven by our compulsive interest in science fiction, role-playing, military realism, and respect for first person immersion.
What it's about
Set in a military context with elite soldiers, a top-secret military program, and armed combat operations. Explicitly set in 'a believable future' protecting mankind from dangers beyond the solar system; sci-fi setting is central. Emphasis on 'believable future' and 'military realism' suggests grounded, plausible science fiction rather than fantastical far-future concepts.
How it plays
Tactical FPS with shooting as the primary combat mechanic; aiming and firing firearms with precision is central to tactical engagements. Inspired by Rainbow Six and System Shock 2, with emphasis on avoiding detection and tactical positioning to avoid engagement. Explicitly a 'tactical FPS' where positioning, cover, team coordination, and deliberate planning drive combat resolution.
How it looks and sounds
The game is explicitly framed as a 'First Person Simulator' with a core design philosophy centered on first-person immersion and presence. 'Military realism' and 'believable future' setting suggest grounded, realistic visual presentation over stylization.
How it's structured
Co-op gameplay is a core feature; the game supports cooperative play through campaigns and missions. Online co-op play on servers worldwide is explicitly listed as a core feature. Single-player campaign available alongside multiplayer options.
