Stranded Deep
Stranded Deep will feature a unique physically-based crafting and building system. Great care has been taken to minimize, even eliminate, most of the in-game UI. You will be able to craft a variety of crude weapons and tools such as spears, axes, knives, bows and even crossbows. And then there’s an assortment of everyday items to figure out how to craft. You will also be able to build a diverse range of unique shelters and rafts.
What it feels like
Facing life-threatening scenarios and constant danger from hunger, thirst, and predators maintains edge-of-seat pressure. The harsh, unforgiving ocean with few comforts or safety nets creates cold hopelessness in survival odds.
What it's about
Surviving in a hostile ocean environment after a plane crash is the primary subject and narrative frame. Being stranded alone in the vast Pacific Ocean emphasizes solitude and disconnection.
How it plays
Managing hunger, thirst, health, and exposure to stay alive is the core loop of the game as a plane crash survivor. A physically-based crafting system for weapons, tools, shelter, and rafts is explicitly central to the design and progression. Scavenging and managing scarce resources under the pressure of survival needs drives continuous decision-making.
How it looks and sounds
The first-person perspective immerses the player directly in the survivor's immediate struggle.
How it's structured
The player sets their own goals within the survival framework; exploration and experimentation are encouraged. A large continuous Pacific Ocean space is explorable in non-linear fashion with procedural variation. Each playthrough generates a different experience with procedural variation in threats and scenarios.
