Dungeons 3
Unleash your dark side by creating a unique underground dungeon from a huge array of rooms, traps and structures. Raise the most terrifying army the world has ever seen, by choosing from despicable creatures such as orcs, succubae, zombies and much, much more. Then, once you have built your forces, emerge from the darkness and guide your army to the light of the overworld, where you will corrupt the land and dispatch anything even vaguely heroic, cute or unicorn-shaped. And in a first for the Dungeons series, experience randomly generated levels, so that no two sessions are alike – never-ending fun for any evil conqueror!
What it feels like
Mischievous humor in dispatching 'cute' and 'heroic' enemies and the irreverent evil-doing invites experimental fun. Building unstoppable forces and conquering the overworld delivers a sense of hard-won evil victory.
What it's about
A grim fantasy world of evil corruption, despicable creatures, and the triumph of darkness defines the setting and tone. The player's role as an expanding dark lord seizing control and corrupting the land explores domination and tyranny.
How it plays
Real-time commanding of units and dungeon economy is the core gameplay loop, defining the strategic moment-to-moment experience. Constructing and expanding an underground dungeon with rooms, traps, and structures is central to the progression and identity. Playing as an omnipotent evil force shaping a world and its creatures from a detached vantage is the defining tone and structure.
How it looks and sounds
The fixed three-quarter angled projection of the dungeon and overworld is the signature visual presentation. Dark, grimy dungeon aesthetics with worn creatures and decay emphasize a harsh fantasy atmosphere.
How it's structured
Randomly generated levels ensure no two sessions are alike, providing high replayability through algorithmic variation. A bounded story arc of building and expanding an evil empire provides narrative structure across missions. Discrete missions or scenarios branch from a central dungeon base the player returns to and develops.
