What it feels like
Constant vigilance against the secret police and fear of discovery permeates the experience. The threat of discovery and the need to avoid authorities creates sustained edge-of-seat pressure.
What it's about
An oppressive, controlling government that demands obedience and eliminates dissidents defines the setting. Preparing for nuclear war and enduring an hostile authoritarian state are central to the experience. The player must navigate and evade government control through careful planning and deception.
How it plays
Constructing and expanding an underground shelter is the central mechanical loop and core to survival. Creating machines, tools, and survival equipment from gathered materials is fundamental to progression. Scarce materials must be gathered, budgeted, and spent strategically to build the escape vehicle and survive.
How it looks and sounds
Steam tags confirm 2.5D perspective, a 3D rendering with 2D-plane gameplay. The aesthetic emphasizes function over flourish, befitting underground survival mechanics.
How it's structured
Designed exclusively as a single-player experience with no multiplayer components. A bounded story arc centered on the protagonist's escape from an oppressive government with a definite endpoint. Player discretion in how to gather materials, which neighbors to trade with, and how to plan escape provides nonlinear progression.
