NEO Scavenger

NEO Scavenger is a game where you must survive in the wasteland long enough to figure out who you are. Each turn, you must decide where to go, how to scavenge for supplies, and how to deal with anything and anyone you encounter. And with each passing minute, the pit in your stomach grows, your dehydration worsens, your muscles tire, and your body temperature drops in the cold autumn air. Choose your starting abilities carefully, because they and your wits are the only tools you have in the apocalypse!

What it feels like

A harsh, unflinching portrayal of wasteland survival without mercy or comfort reflects the unforgiving mechanical design. Constant depletion timers and resource scarcity create sustained pressure where survival is never guaranteed. The vast empty wasteland and isolation of the scavenger create a pervasive solitude and disconnection.

What it's about

The core setting is a collapsed wasteland where the player must survive as a scavenger discovering their identity amid ruins. Enduring a hostile wasteland against environmental and human threats is the narrative and mechanical spine. Uncovering the protagonist's lost identity and past provides narrative arc alongside survival mechanics.

How it plays

Hunger, thirst, temperature, and stamina actively degrade each turn and are the primary mechanical pressure forcing decision-making. Failure resets progress permanently, making each decision carry weight and death a constant threat in the harsh environment. Turn-based movement on a discrete hex grid is the core traversal system, as evidenced by user tags and turn-based mechanics.

How it's structured

Designed entirely as a solo experience with no multiplayer or cooperative components. Play divides into discrete attempts reset on failure, with meta-progression carrying forward between runs. The wasteland layout and encounters are procedurally generated, creating variance across playthroughs.
